    8:30am - 11:45 am – Inside Classes at the Heritage Building

    Topics Include:
    -Basic Beekeeping Equipment with Ben Kilman
    -Honey Bee Biology with Ben Kilman
    -Seasonal Management of Honey Bees with Dr. Jeff Harris
    -Honey Bee Diseases with Dr. Jeff Harris
    12:00pm - 1:00pm - Lunch (Included with Registration)
    1:00pm - 3:30 pm - Live Honey Bee Field Classes (Weather Permitting)
    ** Hands-on in the bee hives on-site at the Museum! **
    Field Topics Include:
    Class 1- Honey Extraction
    Class 2 - Varroa Mite and Small Hive Beetle Management (Dr. Jeff Harris)
    Class 3 - Making of a Nucleus - Jim Pennington
    Class 4 - General Inspection of a Hive - Kip lsonhood
    3:30pm - 4:00pm - Q & A and Door Prizes (Heritage Bldg.)

    IF YOU HAVE YOUR OWN PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT, PLEASE BRING IT. We have a good supply of loaner gear, but it is best to bring your own. (Hat/Veil and Gloves are all that is required and long pants suggested). Bee Supply Vendors will be on-site with beekeeping supplies if you want to go ahead and purchase your own protective gear (or other items)

    - REGISTRATION FEES:
    Early Registration is $20. Walk-in registration is $30. (Walk-ins are welcome! please call or text (601) 540-­‐4344 or (662) 571-4288 if you need any last minute details.
    - PARKING:
    Please park at the MS Sports Hall of Fame Museum, located next door to the Ag Museum.
    - FACILITIES:
    The course will be held in the Heritage Building, the first building on the left as you walk across the wooden bridge from the parking lot.
    - REGISTRATION:
    Registration starts at 8 am the morning of the course and the program will start around 8:30. Coffee and refreshments are provided. Please arrive on time so that we can get everyone checked in. .
    - MORNING:
    We will have lectures on beginner beekeeping, There is a lot of valuable information
    - LUNCH:
    Local Scouts will be on-site grilling ham burgers- The lunch is included with registration. There are also restaurants in the area, as well as a restaurant next to the museum.
    - AFTERNOON:
    We will visit the on-site bee hives and have hands on lessons.
    After we will have door prizes and Q and A back at the Heritage Building.
    The course will end no later than 4:00 that day
